Founded in Venice Beach
It starts in a Venice Beach garage. One sewing machine, a stack of vintage tees, and Paige Mycoskie chasing the worn-in feel of her favorite 1970s finds. Aviator Nation is born.

The Founder
Paige Mycoskie is the founder, owner, and creative force behind Aviator Nation. Her love of 1970s fashion and the music of that era inspired her to make clothes with the same look and feel as the vintage pieces she'd collected for years. While working at a surf shop in Southern California, Paige bought a sewing machine and taught herself to sew after work every night. She wanted to recreate the worn-in comfort and nostalgic spirit of her favorite finds.
That DIY spirit became the brand's DNA. Paige grew Aviator Nation from festival booths and shop-in-shops into something bigger, turning a simple hoodie into a whole California vibe.

Made in the USA since 2006
Every Aviator Nation garment is handmade in California. In our Los Angeles factory, each piece is cut, sewn, and hand-distressed to our version of perfect imperfection. No two hoodies or sweatpants are exactly alike.
Manufacturing in the United States isn't the easy path, but it's the one we believe in. It lets us protect quality, support American jobs, and keep our craft close to home. When you wear Aviator Nation, you're wearing something made by people who care, not something mass-produced overseas.
From one sewing machine in a Venice Beach garage to stores across the country, this is how we got here. Two decades of handmade hoodies, live music, good waves, and that unmistakable 1970s feeling. Scroll through the moments that built Aviator Nation.

In 2012, Aviator Nation launched a partnership with the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Paige curated a signature experience in the artists' lounge inspired by the energy of Woodstock, designing and installing a rainbow tipi where musicians could relax and play vintage instruments. It turned into impromptu shows. The ACL x Aviator Nation merchandise she designed sold out both weekends, and keeps selling out year after year.
Since then, we've partnered across music, sport, and culture with brands and organizations like those below.
