From a phone call three weeks ago to sold-out garments today — the story behind our fastest, most intense drop ever.
Three weeks ago, we got a call. Aviator Nation had been invited to create the official merchandise for the 2026 NCAA Final Four tournament in Indianapolis. We said yes — obviously — and then the real work began.
What followed was one of the most intense, exhilarating, and honestly terrifying weeks in our brand's history. This is how it happened.
The Design Challenge: One Concept, 16 Teams
The first challenge was unique: whatever we created had to work for all 16 Sweet 16 teams simultaneously. Every school has its own colors, identity, and fanbase — our design had to flex across all of them while staying true to Aviator Nation's aesthetic.
When the Sweet 16 was announced, founder Paige Mycoskie and the team immediately turned one master concept into 16 unique team variations — all going through official approval by each school and the NCAA simultaneously. No shortcuts, no exceptions.
While designs were being approved, hoodies were already being produced and dyed in all 16 team colors. Thousands of garments. Moving in parallel.
The 24-Hour Sprint: From Final Four to Live
Three days before launch, we learned who the Final Four would be: the UConn Huskies, Illinois Fighting Illini, Arizona Wildcats, and Michigan Wolverines.
Evening, Day 1: Final Four announced. Printing begins immediately on garments for all four teams.
Day 2 (simultaneously): While garments are being printed, a full lifestyle photoshoot is happening — garments going straight from the print floor to the shoot.
That night: Photos edited. Collection pages built. Marketing assets created.
Day 3: Collection goes live.
Day 4: Most of it is sold out.
Why Made in America Made This Possible
There is no version of this story where Aviator Nation isn't manufacturing in Los Angeles. A 24-hour turnaround from "teams confirmed" to "collection live" is only possible because our entire production process happens in our own California factory, where we control every step.
Every garment was hand sewn in our LA factory — the same tri-blend fabric, single needle stitch, and proprietary breaking-down process that goes into every piece we make. The urgency was extraordinary. The standards were not lowered.
As Paige put it: times like these would be impossible if we didn't make garments in America.
The Collection
The Final Four 2026 capsule includes team-specific hoodies and tees for UConn, Illinois, Arizona, and Michigan — plus a classic NCAA-branded version with each team's icon on the sleeve, finished with Aviator Nation's signature multicolor stripe detailing on the front.
Rolling Stone featured the collection ahead of the semi-finals, calling it a strong case for rethinking what fan gear can look like.

About Aviator Nation
Aviator Nation is a luxury loungewear brand handmade in Los Angeles, California. Founded by Paige Mycoskie, every hoodie, sweatpant, and tee is crafted in our factory in the heart of LA using premium tri-blend fabric, single needle stitch, and a proprietary breaking-down process that gives each piece a broken-in vintage feel from day one. Drawing inspiration from 1970s California surf and skate culture, Aviator Nation produces American-made apparel built for festivals, travel, everyday luxury — and apparently, championship tournaments.
