Unveiled last Friday, Aviator Nation’s store in Laguna Beach, Calif., evokes a beach bungalow with a stained glass window designed like a setting sun that fills a room with warm light; striped murals; vintage floral wallpaper, and white plank ceilings that match the glossy floors.
After years of requests to open a store in Orange County we've finally decided on Laguna Beach! With a great surf break just a block away we've chosen our new location at 1143 South Pacific Coast Hwy. It's been 10 months since surf lifestyle store Aviator Nation
took over the former Haight Ashbury Vintage space on the southwest corner of Haight & Ashbury. Now that they've had a chance to settle in, we sat down with the brand's San Francisco director (and former pro surfer) Julie Cox to learn about the store's look, its series of free concerts, and how they're liking life in the Haight.
Four campaign managers from the non-profit Global Poverty Project (GPP) modeled an array of casual merchandise on Sunday, all reflecting Global Citizen’s cool style. They sported tank tops, hoodies, sweatshirts, hats and a limited edition collection of Aviator Nation sunglasses. With the purchase of these conscious goods, available on Sept. 26 online and at the festival, consumers and concertgoers can also display their support since proceeds benefit GPP. Read More
Aviator Nation surfboards have been a long time coming. They encompass an epic part of the 1970's laid-back California lifestyle, and have been a passion project of our founder, Paige for the past ten years. Finally, her dream of creating the perfect Rainbow riding machine, has come to fruition.
Over the last several months, Paige has been working closely with legendary Santa Barbara shaper, Bruce Fowler and iconic glass man, Bob Haakenson to develop the first Aviator Nation Surfboard.
When Aviator Nation was asked to participate in Austin City Limits Music Festival Paige Mycoskie (designer/founder) wanted to do something special for the musicians themselves. She wanted the musicians to have a "safe place" they could relax in between sets in "Authentic Aviator Nation Style". And just like that, The Aviator Nation TIPI was born! Paige designed the tipi and worked with authentic Native Americans in Montana to make this hand painted creation come to life. The Tipi created the perfect escape for Artists back stage to lounge between sets, jam out with vintage instruments and listen to vinyl. Aviator Nation also created custom ACL gear that was gifted to the musicians. Read More

For surf-inspired T-shirts and rainbow-splashed hats, head to the Malibu outpost of AVIATOR NATION (22967 PCH), the beach-minded clothing company owned by Paige Mycoskie, sister of Toms founder Blake Mycoskie and a one-time contestant on The Amazing Race. The retro, L.A.-made line is at home amid the trippy decor, featuring a wall of record albums, a groovy wall mural and a teepee. Don't forget to pick up a Malibu Surfrider hoodie, the brand's ode to the popular area surf break.
Raised by a creatively nurturing family of artists and entrepreneurs, Paige Mycoskie took to becoming a Jill-of-all-trades from an early age. Influenced by days spent in her grandmother’s loft crafting with an endless variety of mediums, Mycoskie quickly realized the intangible benefits of living a creatively expressive lifestyle. “Creativity comes from feeling like you have no limits, and without restrictions you can evolve in a lot of different ways.” Upon realizing the raw potential for creating timeless clothing, Mycoskie moved her four-member team from her Venice garage into the space Aviator Nation currently occupies on Venice’s Abbot Kinney, where she intended to sell her clothes purely to make rent. The love affair between Aviator Nation and Walk the Moon was born at ACL 2013 when the band debuted their, "Tightrope EP". Paige was wandering in between shows, when she heard them blasting from across Zilker park. She began running to their midday set.
It was love at first listen. After they wrapped their performance, the lead singer, Nick Petricca wandered backstage to the Aviator Nation Tipi and was gifted his very own ACL x Aviator Nation baseball tee. From that moment on, both Walk the Moon & Aviator Nation were super fans of each other. So much so, that Nick called the Signature rainbow hoodie his "spirit hoodie" that understands the rhythms of his soul.
LA-based basics brand Aviator Nation is flying high these days. Last year, founder Paige Mycoskie—apparently, laid-back fashion runs in the fam—was crowned by GQ mag as one of America's best new menswear designers for her line of Cali cool retro tees, hoodies and surfer-faved apparel. In January, the beachy brand kickstarted the year with the opening of its third boutique in Malibu, located just down the street from celeb shopping haunt Malibu Country Mart. Read More
Rainbows, sunbursts, and surfing are among the fixations of Paige Mycoskie’s, a fashion designer whose label Aviator Nation was just named by GQ magazine as one of the best new menswear labels in America.
For Paige, fashion is a family affair. Her brother Blake Mycoskie is the founder of the insanely popular, good-doing shoe brand TOMS. They traveled together on the first season of The Amazing Race.
